Platform for Real-Time Applications and Analytics
SAP HANA provides real-time applications to perform real-time analysis. It is a powerful platform that provides many capabilities to pre-process the data while it is still in memory – from within SQL. The data consumption of IT pushes a new generation of capabilities inside the enterprise. The experience and service levels available to consumers are now being demanded within enterprises. However, these services need to be integrated with core systems, so that it does not add latency and complexity.
These are some of the key next-generation application service features enabled by SAP HANA:
- In-Memory Database – SAP HANA optimizes memory access between the CPU cache and main memory.
- Predictive Analytics – SAP HANA provides In-database predictive algorithms and access to 3,500+ open-source algorithms through R integration.
- Text Search and Mining – SAP HANA offers native full text search.
SAP HANA Database, at the center of the structure, is the heart of the landscape. To transfer data in SAP HANA Database, you can use different tools depending on the latest techniques you use (for example, SLT, Data Service, and DXC).
For administration of the SAP HANA Database, you can use SAP HANA Studio. For administration of your system landscape, you can use SAP Solution Manager. R runtime is an open source programming language, which can be used to develop applications. This language exploits the SAP HANA high performance features, such as Massive Parallel Processing (MPP) and Column Store.
As frontend, you can choose different tools from the SAP Business Objects Suite, BW, and Business Suite. There are different applications available. Some have their own UI, which are created, for example, with SAPUI5.
All data sources in both SAP and non-SAP are usable. The content is available on different devices, on all current browsers, and through portals such as SAP NetWeaver and Microsoft Sharepoint.
